It’s an honor to have you with me on this JOURNEY.
I pray that the testimonies from my adventures will bless you and encourage you in your own faith walk. Multiply the blessings by subscribing to the AL3XAND3R update and share it with your friends. I’m Gr8ful.
Thanks for taking time to celebrate my birthday with me by reading this blog.
During my journey through 40+ countries, many have looked on from afar as I occasionally posted snippets from my travels. I was exploring the depths of many cultures and faith systems. When I finally encountered Truth, however, something deep inside me changed. A passion began to stir from within to share what I had discovered with as many people as possible.
The strategy revealed below is another instance of that call.
I’m writing from the highlands of Guinea in a region known as Fouta Djallon. It’s known for it’s natural beauty, hiking treks canyoning across massive waterfalls, and one of the densest and oldest Muslim populations in Africa.
Not sure if you’ve noticed or not, but Muslims seem to be systematically infiltrating society. While this is a relatively new phenomenon in the Western world, it started in Western Africa back in the 1400s, so the stronghold here is much more embedded.
To crack through this seemingly impenetrable barrier, I’m inviting you to join me as we raise $100K to print 180,000 books to be distributed in The Gambia during a one-week period in May when 57 Muslim nations will gather in the smallest nation in Africa for the OIC.
What is the OIC?
The OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) is the second largest intergovernmental organization in the world—second only to the UN—and is responsible for the overall direction of the Islamic regime.
While the OIC is meeting in The Gambia, a small group of prayer warriors will distribute a book to the local people called “200 Questions for the Bible and the Quran”.
Why this book?
This 120-page spiral-bound pocket-size reference resource asks 200 simple questions that are important to every human being and then allows the two texts (the Bible and the Quran) to speak for themselves. Just the facts.
The Gambia is 95% Muslim and, frankly, everyone I’ve met in this belief system is believing lies about what the Bible actually says.
In the Quran, Mohammed identifies the Torah (Tevrat), Tanakh (Zebur) and Gospels (Injil) as the incorruptible Word of God, so Muslims aren’t inherently opposed to the Bible.
Most Muslims will tell you they believe the Bible. And yet, because Mohammed also said that everything contained in the Bible is also written in the Quran, there’s no need for the average Muslim to ever actually open a Bible. Convenient, no?
This book was originally published in 2014 by Dan Wickwire, a PHD scholar with a Masters degree in Bible, Masters degree in Linguistics, and a year of doctoral studies in Islamics at Ankara University as a special guest student in the Department of Islamic Theology. The author has given seminars comparing and contrasting Islam with Christianity around the world, and the fruit of his efforts can be seen in this incredibly simple, yet powerful book.
This is where you come in.
Why The Gambia?
God called me to The Gambia. I didn’t just decide to go to Africa for fun. This is a heavenly assignment, and the Lord has confirmed it every step of the way.
A Bold Strategy
Before venturing through Senegal, Guinea-Bissau and now Guinea Conakry, I spent 92 days in The Gambia learning about the culture, listening to the Master’s voice, and orchestrating behind-the-scenes details to make it possible to blanket the entire nation with these books all at once, while the Caliphate is in town.
This is a bold move, yet it’s not my strategy.
The plan was revealed during 40 days of prayer and fasting. A small group of 2 or 3 (some days just me) met consistently each morning at the Church closest to the OIC Conference Center and worshiped the King. In the midst of worship, divine details were revealed in the Spirit.
The revelation that came through worship is now formulated into a strategic plan, and I’m inviting you to join the mission!
Want to help? Here are three actions you can take:
1) Share!
Know anyone that would benefit from hearing about spreading truth in Africa? I invite you to share this post with them and get His message out…
2) Pray!
You can join us in prayer for The Gambia by listening in on these epic worship sets:
Day 4 of 40 - Worship in Spirit and in Truth (27:29)
Day 36 of 40 - If You said it, we believe it! (26:27)
Day 39 of 40 - God’s Distribution Plan (34:00)
Day 40 of 40 - An Improbable Nation (1:04:37)
Select one of the days above and join us in prayer. (If you leave a comment with a specific prayer point on the video you watch, it would mean a lot to me.)
3) Give!
For those that are curious about what kind of impact you can make—on my birthday—I’m asking you to join forces in God’s plan of salvation for West Africa. For as little as $10, you can be a part of the blessing.
Here’s what your generous gift does:
$10 — Prints and distributes 10 books.
$100 — Prints and distributes 120 books.
$1000 — Prints and distributes 1400 books.
$10,000 — Prints and distributes 15,000 books.
$100,000 — Prints and distributes 180,000 books.
Current pricing for a small run of this 120-page spiral-bound, pocket-size resource is 45 dalasi (~$0.85) per book in the local currency, but it gets cheaper at volume. By reaching our goal of $100K, we are collectively putting the Gospel in a Gambian’s hand for less than $0.56 each!
You heard that right. I’m currently working with two print shops who understand the risks involved and are ready and willing to do their part.
Are you ready to do your part?
Asking for $100K seems like a lofty goal, and anyone who knows me knows that I’m not one to ask for help. And yet, the Lord is working on me! When a member of my men’s group back in Texas called me randomly last week, he asked what I needed and—when I told him provision for this project—he said that I needed to make a post with a specific ask, so this is that. [Shoutout to Justin!]
I started this blog per God’s instructions and am using it to update readers about His strategies in the days ahead. Therefore, I trust Him to bring the provision.
Due to my own background and exploration of various faiths across 40+ countries, I am aware that many of those who follow my travels may not be Christians. This is wonderful. Know that I’m Gr8ful for your patronage.
To my Muslim friends that are wary, know that God did not send me halfway around the world to hate on another religion. He sent me to disseminate truth.
And that’s the beautiful part of this resource.
This is not some piece of Christian propaganda. Rather, it provides fair answers taken directly from both texts and gives the reader the information necessary to make an informed decision.
I think we can all agree that having accurate information is important to the truth movement. And, frankly, if you don’t agree with that statement, this is probably not the blog for you. :)
If you are interested in truth and would like to download your own copy of the book in English (it’s available in 50 languages!), just click the link below. It’s formatted in such a way that you can take it to a local print shop, have them print the entire PDF double-sided, then chop it in fourths and spiral-bind your own four books: one for you and three for friends!
Fun Fact
Last year on my birthday, I posted this image to facebook after I watched the sun rise over the island of Cyprus. In that facebook post, I asked how many would read a blog if I made one. Many more responded than I anticipated, so here we are!
It was on the island of Cyprus where I was first handed “200 Questions for the Bible and the Quran”. That’s right, when I was in Cyprus, I was given the resource that we are now printing in bulk one year later in a completely different part of the world. At the time, I had no idea about God’s divine distribution strategy.
“You will know the truth. And the truth will set you free.”
It is because of this simple strategy in The Gambia that there is a relatively high probability that the book—once in the hands of a literate Muslim—will be studied without the usual walls that block efforts to share the Bible in Islamic nations.
Why would a Muslim feel compelled to open this small book and explore the Bible?
The answer to that question is reserved for paid subscribers only, not because I’m trying to make a buck. Rather, for security purposes, some details are best kept behind a paywall.
